The Legislative Branch (or Student Body Senate) is composed of 72 student leaders who are elected by the student body each year.
Through the Senate’s fiscal committees, RSOs and individual students can receive funding for conference travel and registration, on-campus events, projects, and promotional items. Funding request forms can be found on the Legislative Branch’s KnightConnect page.
Senators also advocate to university administration on issues that affect the student body. Through legislation, events, and initiatives, the Student Body Senate works to improve the campus experience for all students. To bring an issue to the attention of the Student Body Advocacy Committee, fill out the SBA Concern Form!
Senate meetings during the fall and spring semesters are Thursdays at 7:00 PM in the Charge On Chamber in the Student Union. Summer meetings are at 6:00 PM.
Interested students can follow along with meetings by watching the live stream, and can view the legislation that will be under consideration at each meeting on the Current Legislation page.
