Election Commission Committees

Purpose

The Election Commission’s committees facilitate operations both internal and external to the commission. Each committee is formed by several sitting Commissioners and is headed by a committee Chair and committee Vice Chair. These committees work to further Election Commission initiatives and to progress towards goals within the commission.

Candidate Affairs Committee

The Candidate Affairs Committee develops and implements the Election Week theme, handling budgeting, material sourcing, and event coordination. It oversees workshops, Q&As, and assigns commissioners to Senate colleges. The committee also organizes major events like the Presidential Debate and Senate Forum, manages tabling, and coordinates election-related merchandise.

Meeting time: Tuesdays, 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM in the Siesta Key Board Room (SU 225).

It also reviews and tracks violation hearing decisions to ensure fairness and consistency while supporting clear communication and collaboration across both bodies.

Meeting time: Thursdays, 4:45 PM to 5:45 PM in the Siesta Key Board Room (SU 225).
