Judicial Committees


Purpose


The Judicial Branch’ committees facilitate operations both internal and external to the branch. Each committee is formed by several sitting Justices and is headed by a committee Chair and committee Vice Chair. These committees work to further Judicial initiatives and to progress goals within the branch. The five committees are the Internal Rules Commitee (IRC), Judicial Experience Commitee (JEC), Judicial Outreach Commitee (JOC), Judicial Advertisement and Marketing Committee (JAM), and Precedent Commitee.


General Council


Meeting time: Wednesdays at 5:00pm-6:00pm in the Charge On Chamber


Internal Rules Committee


The Internal Rules Committee (IRC) functions to ensure proper internal proceedings within the branch. They work throughout the year to make amendments to Title V and the Judicial Rules and Procedures (JRP) through careful internal review. They ensure all Judicial business is conducted properly, and that the Judicial governing documents are written to be as conductive as possible.

Judicial Outreach Committee


The Judicial Outreach Commitee (JOC) works to expand the reach of the Judicial Branch across campus and raise awareness of the services the branch offers. JOC plans events and initiatives focused on reaching the student body and making the branch as accessible as possible.

Judicial Experience Committee


The Judicial Experience Committee (JEC) works to ensure high morale and cooperation between the Justices. They plan team building activities and experiences to facilitate bonding and good spirit between the Justices with the goal of ensuring active teamwork throughout the branch.

Precedent Committee


The Precedent Committee works on a wide range of initiatives throughout the year to track Judicial opinions and decisions, establishing consistency within the branch’s operations. The Precedent Committee has also been committed to increasing accessibility of the branch’s services for all students on campus.

The Judicial Advertisement and Marketing Committee (JAM) works throughout the semester to develop and deliver marketing strategies for the Judicial Branch through physical and digital media.
